The spot leveller is available in 3" and 6" versions.  The tool can be used with emery abrasive for spot levelling or fine grit polishing paper for dressing lightly worn areas and polishing frets.
 
The tool features grips for retaining the abrasive at each end which allows standard 25mm wide abrasive to be utilised.
 
The polishing paper strips should be folded in half along their length before use. This creates extra strength with a double sided strip.
 
Choice of grit will depend on the nature of the repair and it is recommended to use successive grades and finish with 2500 grade to polish out.
 
OPTIONAL STRING RAISER
The optional string raiser will create space for the tool to move freely. The strings should be slackened to allow the rubber strip and bar to be fitted.
 
The string lifting bar is placed as close as possible to the nut. The bar is made from stainless steel and curved to a nominal radius. The bar finds its own resting point on the fretboard thus accommodating any radius and also flat boards. The smooth surface of the bar allows the string positions to be altered/grouped and tensioned as required. A thin strip of rubber underneath the bar protects the fretboard.
 
The tool typically spans 3 strings enabling a wide section of the fretboard to be covered.
 
The tools are manufactured in our workshop and the process includes linishing of the levelling face over a granite surface table to ensure flatness.
